Combined with a Powerball winner last week, winnings from the state total three million dollars.

While the big winner of last night's $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot was from South Carolina, 2 tickets sold in Massachusetts contained a million dollars each. According to NECN,  one winning ticket was sold in Bridgewater and the other in Wilmington, the only two winners in New England.

Lottery fever lead up to the drawing, with approximately 10,000 being sold per minute, according to NBC Boston.

Of course, Mega Millions isn't the only game in town. Powerball is up for another huge drawing, and has yielded similar results for residents in Massachusetts. Lottery officials have identified Ilona McCahill of Wareham as the buyer of the ticket sold at a Stop & Shop store in that the same town. According to NBC Boston, McCahill netted $1 million on a Powerball ticket this week.

The winner isn't the only one to enjoy the spoils of victory. In the Powerball case, Stop & Shop will receive $10,000 as a bonus for the sale, Massachusetts State Lottery officials said.
