I've heard a lot of healthy people complain that my food blogs are comprised of mostly poisonous junk so here's a quick shout out to one of my favorite apples- The Mutsu.

A lot of people would mistake it for the Granny Smith but it's flesh is more crisp, lighter and not as tart. Yet, still tart enough to bake with.

If you need any more evidence of how awesome I think the Mutsu is, just take a look at what's left after I'm done eating it. Nothing left but the stem!

This is a late apple so it's season is happening right now and if you have any opportunity to buy one ... buy a bag of them. They're easily in my top three favorites(with Macoun and Cortland) and I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed.
