The WINIcabs service is rolling into Portsmouth first, and plans to expand to other states if it takes off.

Uber has been getting nice and cozy in Portsmouth, NH, but another mobile app is looking to shake things up.

The WINIcabs is app finds the nearest taxi and brings them to mobile users, according to the Seacoast Online. The app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play, with a Windows Store version coming soon.

The service is similar to Uber in that it provides all of the information about the driver and trip being taken. Unlike Uber, the passengers will have the option to pay with cash on top of credit/debit cards.

The owner of the company is partnering with local businesses to set up "EZ Hail" tablets at specific locations to hail taxis.

More competition for a service everyone uses? I am totally on board and this beats the crap out of that horrible texting-only service that Great Bay Taxi was planning. This can only mean better deals for us consumers as the two digital companies go head-to-head trying to get our business.
