New Filet O’ Fish Flavor Eludes New England…Three Ideas to Help Bring it Home

To coincide with the Lenten season, McDonald's has been offering a great Twofer deal on Filet-O-Fish sandwiches for years. This year they've added a special twist, but sadly it's only available at 700 restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic states.

The tartar sauce that accompanies the filet, can be spiced up with Old Bay Seasoning. This is a reddish peppery spice that is most commonly used on crab dishes in the Chesapeake Bay region.

Unfortunately, the closest location is in Wilmington, DE and yes, I ran it through Mapquest just in case you wanted to make the 7 hour trek. Perhaps reading this review from someone that really knows that Mid-Atlantic flavor will be more than enough to satiate your curiosity.

I truly feel the best way to bring this flavor home is to make it yourself. Mix up the concoction the best you can and apply it directly on your sandwich. The cost of a few ingredients will be much cheaper than both the gas money needed and the value of the 15 hours of time it would take to drive round trip to Delaware for the real thing.
