Firefighters from New Hampshire and other New England states will head out and help fight the wildfires in California.

WMUR.com is reporting that around 100 firefighters will make the trip to Humboldt, California and assist with more than a dozen fires.

They will face many challenges including rough terrain, poisonous oak, scorpions, snakes and dehydration. Not to mention the extreme danger of fighting rapidly moving fires. So far, 120,000 acres has burned.

These brave men and women are expected to be away from their families for about two weeks fighting these fires.

Best wishes for a safe return!
