Newmarket Woman Killed In Crash

Janelle Jordan died in the crash that occurred Wednesday on Rt.101.

According to the AP, a preliminary investigation by State Police shows that Jordan's car was heading eastbound near Exit 9 when it went off the left side of the roadway and hit a guardrail.

The car then went airborne and hit a second guardrail over an access road before coming to rest in the median. Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating whether speed and cellphone use contributed to the crash.
