I'm sure this means that since I have a diploma from ORHS,(class of '82), then I'm pretty smart, right?

If ever there was a school that had to go the extra mile to get out from under it's own name, it's Oyster River. I love the name now and am a very proud alum, but when I first moved to the area I wasn't too keen on telling other kids where I went to school. 'Clam Creek' is what was often thrown back at me.

And truth be told, I'm not sure the school would have even been ranked in this Newsweek study in the late 70's-early 80's when I was there. There were too many old school marms running out the clock on their career teaching in that era. I doubt any of those had changed up lesson plans since they had been teaching in a one room school house.

So congratulations Oyster River High School! You've made the list with only two other high schools in the state: Groveton High School and Campbell High School.
