Exeter High School Grad., David Scamman, received a Scholarship from the Red Sox Foundation, according to a story in the Union Leader.

The report says that David received $1,000 and two tickets to the game.  I'm not sure which he was more excited about, the money or the tickets to Fenway.  David's parents, Bruce and Allison Scamman, must be very proud of him!  I would be more excited about the tickets to Fenway and getting on the big screen!

The story goes on to say that David graduated in June from Exeter High School and he'll be in the Corps of Cadets at Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., this fall.

I got a music scholarship when I was a Senior in High School.  I was going to Keene State College as a Voice Major and the VFW in Nashua gave me $250.  At the time, it was enough to buy all of my books for the first year.  Now, I'm not sure if college students even USE real books.  Those things were heavy!

Congratulations, David!
