I absolutely love this commercial.  IKEA changing the Halloween commercial game with a spooktacular ad.  A brilliant idea and a fantastic tribute to my favorite horror film.  It's all in the details and they nailed it.

Right from the beginning you know this is a tribute to Stanley Kubrick's, 'The Shining.' This is the hallway scene where Danny is riding his big wheel and encounters those very scary little girls that want to play with him. We all know the movie, so I won't get into much detail about the film, but how about all the creativity in the commercial.

The sound of the big wheel going from carpet to the hard floor instantly gave me that eerie feeling I get when I watch the movie. Then you have the red writing on the wall that says 'REDRUG' instead of 'REDRUM,' so clever.

The phonograph playing music and the blocks numbered 2,3,and 7, representing the number of the haunted room in the film is a nice touch as well. There are more, but I think my favorite part is the end, when the parents are saying, 'come pay with us,' instead of 'come play with us,' hilarious!

Nice work IKEA, at some point in my life I might buy something from one of your stores, just because of this ad.

And here is the hallway scene from the movie, 'The Shining.'
