Another fun pastime of summer has come to an end by a meddling bureaucracy as Portsmouth police are now required to stop people from jumping off the Sagamore Avenue bridge.

The city does not not want to be held liable for any injuries that might be sustained in the course of jumping. I suppose that's understandable.

Sad though, as growing up in Durham, a staple of our summers was jumping off the train trestle in Lee, or off the bridge off Wiswall Rd.
