According to data from two federal agencies, NH, Maine and Vermont have seen no deadly cases so far. I'm sure I just jinxed it.

In fact, a UNH Extensive Service entomologist says it's possible that New England could see no deadly cases of the deadly EEE virus this year. The conditions must remain as dry and cool as they have been into the fall season.

The Granite State, as well as Maine, have also not had any mosquitoes or animals test positive for either disease. Massachusetts and Vermont can't say the same. They've each had counties that had the insects test positive this year.

Massachusetts has had two reported human cases of West Nile this year.
