Not really a surprise here. Reports are saying that Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will most likely leave the Patriots after the season to pursue a head coaching job.

He was already a head coach, remember that, in Denver, he went 11 and 17 and then was fired half way through the 2010 season.

I always assumed offensive coordinator was a temporary role for him until he found another head coaching job, so I expected this.

I didn't expect to hear about it in the early stages of this season though.

With some teams this could be a distraction, with the Patriots I don't worry about these types of situations having an impact on their play. They have other things to worry about this season, like who will play quarterback against Buffalo on Sunday.
