(Wells, Me.) - Maine State Police say one man was killed in an accident this morning on the Maine Turnpike in Wells.

State Police say northbound traffic remains reduced to one lane at the scene of a the crash on the Maine Turnpike this morning in Wells .

The man killed this morning on the Maine Turnpike is 48 year old Michael Sands of Waldoboro.  Troopers said he was killed instantly when his pickup ran into the back of a turnpike plow truck.

The crash is at mile 16 in the northbound lane , where only one lane remains open. The crash took place in the far left travel lane.

Troopers expect the crash site will likely be cleared by 1030 to 11 am and  northbound traffic will  continue to be backed up until that time.
