Miles Goldberg is an 11 year old sixth grader from Oyster River Middle School, who was diagnosed last year with Osteosarcoma, which is a type of bone cancer.

In two weeks, Miles will have surgery to remove one of his legs at the knees. He's already had 2 moths of chemotherapy.

Last Saturday at the Demerritt Park in Madbury, Rebecca Kell, who's son played ball with Miles, organized a "Shave for Miles" day, in which team and members of the community could shave their heads in support of Miles.

Over 100 heads were shaved that day, including teammates, former teammates, members of opposing baseball teams, and even several moms and dads.

Miles and his family had no clue what was about to happen when they arrived at the field on Saturday.

I'm sure they left with a huge clue about how the community feels about Miles, and the definition of being a teammate.
