Since 2005, the Pease Greeters have greeted chartered flights of military personnel. In fact, this Sunday, the 900th flight will land at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease. These servicemen and women will either be on their to deployment, or coming home.

And the Pease Greeters will be there. The greeters can number into the hundreds and they greet the service people as they come off their respective flights.

The Pease Greeters' financial support is 100 percent from donations it receives, and Cove said the cost of its work keeps growing as the number of flights keep coming.

It is a 501(c) tax exempt organization, and contributions are tax deductible. Donations are accepted at peasegreeters.org, where contributors can find out how to give and what the group’s needs are.

The Pease Greeters mean so much to the troops who are passing through onto parts unknown, or returning home. They do meaningful work.

Please do what you can.
