The incident early Friday AM has left the victim in the intensive care unit at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

According to WMUR News 9, the woman, who was unidentified for a while, was found unconscious after 1 a.m. lying in the road on Woodbury Avenue. Without a vehicle claiming responsibility, officials pointed to a hit and run situation.

Portsmouth police believe the woman was hit by the Verizon Wireless store on Woodbury Avenue.

WMUR News 9 reported the woman is in stable condition as of Friday morning battling life threatening injuries. They are still trying to piece together the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 603-610-7609.

Police said tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest or an indictment.
