So it's simple. If you're feeling down, head to Portsmouth.

Coastal Living magazine conducted a reader poll asking for the 'happiest seaside towns' and Portsmouth just made the top 10, coming in at number nine.

The magazine describes Portsmouth as:

"One of the nation’s oldest cities, this thriving seaport on the Piscataqua River boasts remarkable riches and is still incredibly welcoming to visitors and new residents alike."

Portsmouth just keeps winning awards and making top ten lists. I've got another category Portsmouth ranks high in: Worst parking. Perhaps the new garage will help, but something tells me parking in Portsmouth will always be an issue.

Well I will admit Portsmouth has come a long way in the past 30 plus years when the only reason I would go downtown was to shop at Daddy's Junky Music store on Congress street.

Funny. I don't ever remember having any trouble finding a spot back in the late 70's-early 80's.
