The program offers library delinquents the opportunity to make good on their fines while helping the Seacoast Family Food Pantry.

The program is called "Food for Fines" and it runs October 5th through the 26th. During that time period, anyone with an overdue fine can donate food in exchange for forgiveness.

If you donate a canned and/or non-perishable food the library will forgive up to $2.00 in overdue fines for EVERY approved item (with a maximum of $20 total per person).

The program only applies overdue fines not lost or damaged items. And of course, you'll still be required to return whatever it is that's overdue.

Not a delinquent and still want to donate? The Portsmouth Public Library will accept any and all donations for the Seacoast Family Food Pantry.
