With all the griping about the infestation of ticks and black flies every year, I noticed a glut of something while hiking yesterday that we can all look forward to.

A boom of blueberry blossoms! If even half of what I saw yesterday turns into fruit, we'll all be able to pick a bucket per square foot. Oceans of jellies and jams for everyone!

The low bush varieties seem to be more bountiful than the high bush(pictured above). Perhaps they flourish under 5 feet of snow? I may be wrong but I predict native blueberry prices will be delightfully low this season.
