Let's meet Joel Carpenter of Portland. Joel was looking to adopt a pooch and fell in love with a shelter dog on the internet.

Sadie was in a shelter in Minneapolis and Joel flew out to adopt her. Only problem was, Joel only had enough cash to get out there. No return trip.

Joel and Sadie are making their way back, however, thanks to the internet and the kindness of strangers. They've been hitch hiking, crashing on couches, and posting on Craigslist for rides.

At the very least, Joel and Sadie will have a bonding story as old as time itself. Man will do anything for his best friend.
