The Red Sox invited a bunch of David Ortiz's former teammates including Manny Ramirez, Mike Lowell, Pedro, to take part in Ortiz's final regular season game at Fenway.

During the pre-game ceremony, the Sox announced they will retire his number next year, the city will name a bridge after him, and the team donated $500,000 to Ortiz's charity.

So Ortiz was true to the end when it came time to say goodbye. He teared up he thanked his late mother, then went on to thank everyone from the Red Sox’ clubhouse staff to Dominican president Danilo Medina.

Then Ortiz finished by thanking the fans, getting down on one knee and tipped his cap to the crowd:
