While New England was sleeping on the Patriots yesterday, the Red Sox began their quest to return to relevancy signing Pablo Sandoval, and a deal for Hanley Ramirez could be next. (And hopefully Jon Lester not too far behind!?)

Red Sox agreed to terms on a 5-year $100 million contract with the former Giants 3rd basemen. I like the move. For one, I could care less about money, it means nothing in baseball, and second, the guy is a proven winner with talent and a great attitude. Three World Series rings in five years in nothing to scoff at.

Apparently the Red Sox aren't done either. There are reports flying all over the place that a deal to sign Hanley Ramirez is in place that could be another 5-year contract worth around $100 million as well.

Thankfully Ramirez has said he'd be willing to play other positions if he ends up here. Maybe left field? We already have a SS for the future...hopefully.

Now all the Red Sox need to do is get pitching, specifically Jon Lester. If all of that can happen I'll definitely be back to watching them next year!
