70's movies were filled with awful music themes that people loved. I present to you 3 that made me want to smash my radio.

The Academy Awards used to be held in late March, so when I'm researching  the 'this date in entertainment history' portion of the Shark Morning Show (weekdays at 5:40am), I've been reminded about how awful the songs were that were nominated, and even won an Oscar.

We'll start with the worst of the bunch, 'You Light Up My Life' from the movie of the same name. This song was all over the radio and If I NEVER hear this song again it will be too soon. And no, Debbie Boone wasn't the original artist.

I thought this song was the theme to 'Billy Jack'. I was wrong. But I still can't listen to it without getting some bile in my mouth. As popular as it was, I don't think I've seen this movie from beginning to end.

Paul Williams is an excellent songwriter,  and Barbara Streisand is an excellent singer, and this re-make of 'A Star is Born' is pretty good. But I hate this song. Again, perhaps it was overkill, as it was played all the time, but I just listened to it again (30 years on), and I'm breaking out in hives.

If you want to dance to songs from this era, join us at the Rochester Opera House on Saturday, April 23 with The Sharks Dance Through The Decades hosted by Barry Scott.
