Roads to be Upgraded in Many Seacoast Communities

If the conditions on some of the roads in Durham, Somersworth, and Rochester are taking it's toll on your vehicle, that could soon change for the better.

Last month, Gov. Sununu declared NH's cities and towns would divide $30 million in State cash to fund road upgrades. Bridges in the state will get $6.8 million for upgrades.

Under the state’s complex funding formula, Dover is set to receive $510,000 while Rochester will receive about $530,000. Somersworth is due about $195,000. In Durham, roughly half of the town’s $256,000 allocation will go toward resurfacing Edgewood and Canney roads. Another $51,000 will go toward Mill Pond Road, and smaller upgrades are planned for Cowell Drive, Glassford Lane and Sauer Terrace.

 

I know winter takes it's toll on the roads in the Northeast, but boy it seems the same roads that get new grades and pavement one year fall apart again within the next couple of years.

Let's hope these improvements last for a while.
