At the NFL Owners meetings in Arizona,Commissioner Goodell stated that he'll be in Foxboro when the Patriots raise their fifth championship banner.

According to ESPN.com

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday that he plans to attend the opening game of the 2017 season, which means he'll likely be making his first appearance at the New England Patriot's home stadium since Deflategate and the league's legal fight to uphold a four-game suspension of quarterback Tom Brady.

"I plan to be at the kickoff game," Goodell said, chuckling at a somewhat lighthearted question regarding his plans for five months from now.

The fact that Commissioner Goodell hasn't been to Gillette since before the Brady suspension has led to wild speculation (especially in Patriot Nation) that Mr. Goodell has been less than enthusiastic about showing his face in Foxboro.

The opening of the NFL season is expected to be on Thursday, September 7th. The reception will be interesting.
