There are many four-legged veterans who aren't getting the warm welcome home they deserve.

Very quickly after returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, these bomb sniffing dogs were taken to the Mount Hope Kennels in Virginia.

They were treated for issues including PTSD. But the stay, which was initially to be short, has turned into over a year.

According to a report on WWBT, Mount Hope Kennels owner Greg Meredith says:

“This is not the life that they deserve, nor is it how this country should take care of its soldiers. It's the least that we can do to take care of them, because they've taken very good care of us, to protect our freedoms,”

Authorities are trying to find the dog's handlers so they can be reconnected. If that can't happen, these dogs will be available for adoption.

If you are of mind to adopt one of these veteran dogs, you must fill out and notorize this application.
