Let's meet Eugene Finney from Fitchburg, Ma. He was vacationing with his family at Huntington Beach, Ca. over the summer.

Eugene was in the water with his daughter in a pretty strong current. As he was holding onto her, the current and waves pushed them close to 20 feet below the surface.

That's when Eugene "felt a strong force pummel into his back". After being able to get back to shore, he realized he was bleeding, and then looked back into the water where he saw "a pair of fins".

After returning home, and not feeling well, Eugene went to the hospital and thats when doctors found a tumor in his kidney. The diagnosis was Stage 1 cancer.

Doctors were able to remove the tumor, and Eugene Finney will not need chemotherapy. In fact, doctors say he's cancer free.

“The incident with the shark was a message from God, a message from someone,” Finney told the San Jose Mercury News.

After a summer of nasty shark attacks, especially in the Carolina's, here's one with a positive outcome.
