Major construction starts today on one of Dover's main entry roads, and getting around it doesn't sound fun.

Today begins the start of a spring and summer long reconstruction of Silver Street. During this process, Silver Street will be one-way inbound from the intersection of Arch Street to Central Avenue.

There will be signs for outbound traffic that will direct motorists to the detour routes. Pay attention, as there will be stop signs where you might not have seen them before throughout this process.

Imagine making Storrow Drive in Boston just one-way. That is sort of the traffic equivalent in Dover.

It is a major reconstruction that includes new underground piping, curbs and sidewalks. A much needed upgrade, for sure. However, until it's complete, it's going to be major pain-in-the-rear for drivers getting around Dover.
