Conditions could be improving soon, though.

If you're chomping at the bit to ride your new snowmobile that Santa gave you, you may not have to wait too much longer.

While we still need another storm to kick start the season, WMUR.com spoke with the chief of the New Hampshire Bureau of Trails, Chris Gamache, who thinks that it's likely some trails will be open this weekend.

"The state recreational rail trails are open for riding, but gates will not open until grooming operations start. Most trails on private lands are still not open yet. We received anywhere from 4 to 10 inches around the state Monday, and we still need another storm like this one to get enough snow down to start grooming the trails. We may have some trails available by this weekend, with early season riding conditions."

If you're wanting to ride, check the NH Division of Parks and Rec website for trail conditions.
