This pug is lucky to be alive after its owner left it to face the elements outside of the NHSPCA in Stratham.

The elderly dog was found on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 17 by volunteers and staff at the center, according to The Seacoast Online. The NHSPCA is usually closed at that time, but on there was an event in the building that day.

Those inside could hear barking and whining outdoors, and were shocked to find the helpless animal tied up in the cold. The pug, now dubbed Lottie, has many health problems and is currently being cared for by the NHSPCA staff.

Abandoning an animal is a crime and the organization hopes to catch the person responsible for this careless act.

NHSPCA is seeking any information on this pug and its owner. Please contact the organization directly at 772-2921 ext. 111 or the Stratham Police Department at 778-9691

Tax-deductible donations to help care for Lottie and other animals in need can be made to the SOS FUND at  www.nhspca.org. Donations can also be made over the phone by calling 772-2921 ext. 120 or by mail: New Hampshire SPCA, P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
