According to sources, ESPN says the footballs were found to be inflated less than the requirements stated by NFL rules.

The NFL is not "commenting at this time", and earlier in the week, the league's senior executive vice president of football operations said the NFL expected to wrap up it's investigation in "two or three days".

Yet to be determined is how the balls became deflated as the referees do inspect the balls prior to the game and then return them to the ball boys. The footballs are not to be altered during the game according to NFL rules and regulations.

For a coach and team that is highly regarded as a franchise that is above others in game preparation, changing up the game plan week to week, and executing that plan to great success over the years, this type of distraction leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

One of the worst things to be called in life, and especially in sports, is a cheater. And for those who don't think it's a big deal, that they would have stomped the Colts anyway, the second part of that is true. But calling into question the team's integrity, for messing with the integrity of the game is sadly becoming part of the story of the Belichick era in Foxboro, and that's sad.
