Last month in New Hampshire a law went into effect that permits students to wear their military uniforms at commencement ceremonies.

Pennsylvania passed a similar law in 2011 and California in 2009.

Honestly, I'm not really sure why this was ever an issue. Is it that the students wearing their military uniforms will stand out in a sea of caps and gowns? Is that the problem? If it is, those students SHOULD stand out, they're serving to protect our freedoms and their decision needs to be recognized.

Students that are graduating and going to serve their country deserve the right to wear their uniform at a commencement ceremony.

I understand the whole school spirit thing and graduating together as one class, but I would think that patriotism, honoring and serving your country is worthy of recognition.
