Yesterday I received a text message from my wife that said we have an unusually large number of ladybugs inside our house near the front door.  I responded by saying 'vacuum them.'  She did, and moments later I received a photo:

They just kept coming in.  She would vacuum, leave for a few minutes, come back to check, and more ladybugs would be there.  After a few sessions with the vacuum, she gave up.  When I got home most of them were gone, and when I woke up this morning, all of them were gone.  Strange.

So, I did some research and it turns out that this has been happening in the U.S. since the 90's.  These are Asian Lady Beetles looking for a place to stay for the winter.  Rent free of course.  They're harmless, but it gets a bit annoying seeing so many of them, and you can hear them flying into the walls and ceiling.  They like light, so that is where they gather.

If you don't want these things hanging out in your house just make sure you seal your doorways and windows, and the vacuum is the easiest way to remove them if they have already taken over your home.
