This is a unique beer that will stay in my heart forever thanks to a chance discovery at this craft beer bonanza.

Beer festivals can bring beer knowledge!

There is nothing worse than sticking your neck out and trying a seasonal or non-traditional brand by BUYING a six-pack, then discover it tastes like low grade motor oil.

Last year at Seacoast On-Tap, I found several great beers that I would have never dared to buy at the local packy. A great review of my favorite discovery is embedded below.

I'm not that big a fan of flavored beers. I'm not a purist or a beer snob by any means, it just always tastes like something is in there that doesn't belong.

Shiner Prickly Pear is the one exception. The fruit of the prickly pear cactus goes remarkably very well with this honest beer.  All my years of walking by those little buggers in the Mojave desert, I'd have never guessed they tasted so good in a brew!
