Who knew that this gem was considered the most underrated spot in New Hampshire?

This article about underrated attractions is one of the best I've read in quite some time and perfect for someone who prefers to stay away from conventional tourist traps. For New Hampshire, it is the Isle of Shoals.

Straddling the border between Maine, the Isle of Shoals is a group of nine tiny islands, four of which are technically part of New Hampshire. The only one that's served by a commercial boat from the mainland is 46-acre Star Island, a Unitarian Universalist-affiliated property that's home to the Oceanic Hotel and a bucolic fishing village that dates back to the 1600s.

They have every State in the country covered too, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't complain about something, so, here goes.

For Nevada, they list The Neon Museum. I have been trying to go there for years and as you can tell from the screenshot (above), it's not that easy a place to visit without research and planning. That is not my style.

If I had written this article, I would have suggested Virginia City, a tiny ghost town equidistant from Reno and Lake Tahoe and it has something for everyone. I found this place to be authentic and charming and I certainly think it's very underrated.

Unless you don't like shopping, gambling, silver, history, haunted hotels, great music and great food with plenty of free parking AND the classic TV show Bonanza, then Virginia City is the place for you.
