Dover has finished work on a new roundabout that drivers should know about.

Folks coming into Dover from the Spaulding Turnpike via Silver Street most likely have noticed a new traffic wrinkle on their route.

There is a new roundabout that will connect Silver Street, Know Marsh Road, the Spaulding Turnpike and eventually the new development at the former McIntosh College.

Roundabouts are a good alternative to traffic lights, as they keep the traffic moving, and make roads safer as drivers have to slow down upon entering.

Entrances to the new roundabout are single lane except the entrance to Knox Marsh Road (that entrance has 2 lanes). Obviously all vehicles approaching must yield to cars that are already in the roundabout.

Something to be aware of as you drive Silver Street in and out of Dover.
