Exciting news for race fans! The building that will house the history of motorsports racing in the Northeast has arrived at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The North East Motor Sports Museum should be open by NASCAR race weekend September 23-25.

The building was shipped in from Gettysburg, Md. on four flat bed trucks and should be erected within two months. Work on the site for the museum started last September.

You can expect to find cars, motorcycles, helmets, photos, books and more. There will be multiple displays of racing related artifacts and vehicles, basically anything related to motorsports history in the Northeast.

Here's what NEMSM President Dick Berggren said about the project,

This project is unique in that virtually every museum in the country has one or several wealthy individuals behind it. This museum is being built with funding provided by hundreds of racers and race fans rather than a few wealthy individuals. The support of local companies that have donated or reduced the cost of their goods and services has been huge to help the project get where it is.

The racing season has started, check out what's happening at New Hampshire Motor Speedway!
