Local officials have really missed the boat on this.

Seriously, with the facilities at UNH and the local high schools and various city pools (including one named after an Olympic champion), this should be a lay-up.

Track and Field events could be held at UNH. They've got the track and the fields. Okay, so maybe only five thousand people could see the events. That's why we have television.

Gymnastic events could be held in any one of the local gyms. Swimming would obviously have to take place in the Jenny Thompson pool.

Traffic would become the new Olympic event, as local drivers dodge all the folks from Europe who would be driving on the wrong side of the road. In fact, that could become a new reality show eminating from the chaos.

All in all, I think the NH seacoast hosting the Olympics is a wonderful idea. We've got the hotel rooms, and parking. Okay, we've got the hotel rooms.

The deadline is September 15th, so there still is some time for me to come to my senses.
