Saturday night at 8:30 the UNH Football Wildcats will face a very difficult opponent in San Diego State. They start on the road with a new quarterback leading them.

Redshirt sophomore Trevor Knight  won the starting QB job over 5th year senior and team co-captain Adam Riese. Knight was impressive last week during the Blue-White game, going 15-20 for 234 yards and 3 touchdowns.

He did get a little game time experience last season, so he has an idea of how fast the college game can be. He played his high school football at Nashua South.

I'm a bit surprised because I thought Riese had this thing locked up, he's a really talented QB, but I guess Knight had a slightly better camp and is more athletic. I figured Coach McDonnell would go with experience, but he clearly sees something special in Knight.

Good to know UNH has a solid, experienced back up, depth is so important, and Riese can definitely help Knight with the transition to starter.

The season starts Saturday in San Diego, first home game in the new stadium is September 10th against Holy Cross.

GO WILDCATS!
