This story about an extremely harsh punishment in South Carolina is trending on every search engine on the world wide web. I have a theory as to why the severity of the 'discipline' was so outrageous and nobody seems to want to mention it.

The 14 year old girl who was kicked out of her home and forced to live in a tent for a week was punished for not asking permission to have a Pop-Tart. Thankfully, her Grandmother found out about this and rescued her Granddaughter from the wilderness.

I know that when Pop-Tarts recently cut the amount of Tarts per pack down by 50%, the people here that frequently use The Bob Fuller Media Center vending machine went ballistic. A lot of them were so enraged that they've never used the vending machine again.

I can't help but wonder if the Pop Tart repackaging ploy is at least partly to blame for this sad story. I know that the anger I saw deep in the eyes of many Pop Tart enthusiasts is something I never want to see again.
