March 14, 1981:
Eric Clapton was hospitalized with bleeding ulcers causing a US tour to be cancelled. Five weeks later, Clapton returned to the hospital after being involved in a car crash.
March 15, 1975:
The Doobie Brothers hit No.1 in the US for the first time with 'Black Water'.
March 16, 1989:
MTV began a contest in which the prize was going to be Jon Bon Jovi's childhood house.
March 17, 1984:
Van Halen's 'Jump' peaked at No.1 in the US. When asked about the meaning behind the lyrics, David Lee Roth most often says they are about a TV news story he saw where a man was about to kill himself by jumping off a building.
March 18, 1978:
Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Santana, Heart, Dave Mason, and Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush all appeared at the California Jam II festival in California.
