Bruce Springsteen's first band,The Castiles, made their first recordings with Bruce on vocals. They cut two Springsteen songs, ‘Baby I’ and ‘That’s What You Get’.
May 19th, 1979
Eric Clapton held a party to celebrate his recent marriage to Patti Boyd. As the festivities went on, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr ended up jamming together along with Clapton, Ginger Baker and Mick Jagger.
May 20th, 1966
Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend took the stage with the bass player and drummer of the local band that opened the show as they were tired of waiting for John Entwistle and Keith Moon to arrive for their gig at the Ricky Tick Club in Windsor. Once Entwistle and Moon arrived, fisticuffs broke out, and Moon and Entwistle quit the band for a week.
May 21st 1983
David Bowie went to No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Let's Dance', featuring blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan.
May 22nd 1976
Silly Love Songs, a song Paul McCartney wrote in response to critics,(including John Lennon) for writing 'lightweight songs, hits number 1 on the US charts.
