During a England tour Bob Dylan played the first of two sold out nights at London's Royal Albert Hall. The Beatles were in the audience seeing him live for the first time.

The members of Led Zeppelin attend an Elvis Presley show at the Los Angeles Forum in California. Elvis stopped the band after a rocky start to the concert and jokingly said: ‘Wait a minute, if we can start together fellas, because we’ve got Led Zeppelin out there, lets try to look like we know what we're doing.’

Brian Jones made his final live appearance with The Rolling Stones when they appeared at the New Musical Express Poll Winners Concert at the Empire Pool in England. Jones would be dead a little more than a year later, July 3,1969 at age 27.

Queen guitarist Brian May was under 24-hour security watch after a deranged man announced he was setting off to murder him - then disappeared. Police were searching for a schizophrenic who left a letter behind at his home blaming the Queen guitarist for his illness. In it the man - said May was an "impostor" and that HE was the real rock star. He signed the letter "Brian May."
