Columbia Records begins making the 33-RPM long player (vinyl record album for you youngsters). The albums could contain a maximum of 23 minutes of music per side.

In an interview with Life Magazine, Paul McCartney admitted to taking acid a total of four times. He told a local paper that he hoped his fans would understand.
