October 21st is like Christmas for Red Sox fans like myself. A wonderful day that has given us many gifts over the years.

This '75 Game Six home run changed the way baseball was filmed forever, because the cameraman inside the wall was too freaked out by a large rat that was running around the base of the "Green Monster" to focus on the flight of the ball. Technically, it happened a few minutes past midnight on October 22nd but I like that most non-sports fans think that that home run actually won the '75 series for the Sox.

All of these fireworks from Johnny Damon happened on October 20th but the Sox won Game 7 of the ALCS at 12:01am October 21st after the Yankees had a 3-0 in games. I like writing that so I think I'll repeat it. The Sox won Game 7 of the ALCS at 12:01am October 21st after the Yankees had a 3-0 in games.

Also, the 2007 American League Championship was won by the Red Sox on October 21st and they went on to win the series. Do you need any more proof that today is a magical day of gifts and candy for Sox fans? I know for a fact that it still roasts the chestnuts of many Yankees fans and that makes me smile.
