I'm saddened to hear that one of my favorite childhood stores is closing for good.

Toys 'R' Us has announced that it will sell approximately 735 stores and in doing so it will toss 31,000 people out of work.

My memories of Toys 'R' Us are some of the best of my childhood. I loved their mascot 'Geoffrey the Giraffe', but it was the seemingly never ending shelves that seemed to be 50 feet high, filled with board games, GI Joes and every toy you could think of that I remember most of all.

It's too bad that the internet has claimed another brick and mortar store.

Kids today are missing out an being able to touch and feel their toys before they buy them.
