Traffic Change In Newmarket Begins Today

It's only temporary, but If you're not paying attention you could get lost.

The traffic in downtown Newmarket will shift from the usual two-way pattern to a one-way traffic pattern beginning today (August 9).

If you are heading southbound, you will be detoured down Elm Street to Packers Falls Road to South Main Street to Gerry Avenue.

This detoured route is expected to be in place for at least 4 weeks. This pattern might be familiar to some, as it was also used in 2009 for the Downtown Reconstruction project.

This work is being called the 'Downtown Pedestrian Improvement Project'.
