The Maine and New Hampshire transportation departments will be initiating the closure of one northbound and one southbound lane on the I-95 Piscataqua River Bridge between Portsmouth and Kittery, beginning the morning of Thursday, April 27.

According to a press release:

During this lane closure, an inspection of the bridge’s truss members will be conducted, as well as other inspection and annual maintenance efforts. The lane closures will also serve as a traffic control test for planned bridge rehabilitation work that will begin in 2018. Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes or allow additional time to travel. The Departments asks that all motorists be patient, reduce speed, and exercise added caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.

The closed lanes are expected to re-open on May 1st.
