Take a walk down memory lane and witness the sights and sounds of Portsmouth 30 years ago.

We have Charles Huffman to thank for this video time capsule. From the YouTube description we know he once lived in Portsmouth from 1978-1980 and decided it would be a good idea to film his return on June 6th, 1984.

Immediately we're reminded of how Yoken's was the hotspot back in the day. The 'Thar She Blows' landmark sign with the whale is a vivid memory everyone in New Hampshire has.

Things I never knew existed: 'Chug-a-Lug store' and 'Woolworth's.' The Chug-a-Lug was where the Lafayette Animal Hospital is (near Water Country). The Woolworth's is now a bunch of stores where the Margaritas is.

And remember Route 16 was only two lanes with only a guardrail separating North and South? Amazing how much its changed.
