Friday, November 11th, we honor Veterans. Many organizations and cities and towns are holding special events to honor our Veterans. Here is the latest list available to the Shark.

BERWICK, Maine: To mark Veterans Day in Berwick, Charles S. Hatch Post #79, The American Legion, will host a special service at Lord's Cemetery at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 11. The members of our American Legion family invite the public to attend this annual observance.

■ You are invited to the Community Veterans Day Service: on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m., at the Berwick United Methodist Church, 37 School St., Berwick, Maine. Pastor Don "Skip" Smith, Berwick UMC, is hosting a special service to honor Veterans of all the military services. "I am honored to be a part of this event as it is my first tribute to military members since my retirement from and as a veteran of the United States Air Force. We hope to see you there," Smith said.

DOVER: City Hall Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., at the City Hall Auditorium. Master of Ceremony, Davide Wiggin Disabled Veteran Dover Commander; Post Colors by Dover ROTC Dover High School; National Anthem by Dover High School Band conducted by James Butka; Placing of wreath by Dover American Legion Aux Members; Guest Speakers: Commander Daniel Youch; Mayor of Dover Karen Weston; Songs by the Dover High School Band; Grade School teacher reads poem and presents cards to be delivered to disabled veterans. Break from 12-1 p.m. We are having a special invitation event from 1-3 p.m., to the public we are asking all the veterans to share their military experience with the public.

■ Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Wentworth Hospice (an Amedisys partner) are co-sponsoring a community gathering: Friday, Nov. 11, from 10:30 a.m., to 12 p.m., at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Garrison Auditoriums to honor veterans and their families. Participants include members of the ROTC program from Dover High School, volunteers from Wentworth Hospice who themselves are veterans, and Joe Irvine from the New Hampshire Vet to Vet Program. Veterans and their families are encouraged to attend this free event. Please join us for refreshments and companionship, inspiration and support. For details: 692-0220.

DURHAM: Join us for a special Veteran's Day Program: on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Durham Public Library, 49 Madbury Rd., Durham, featuring Sam Perley, trumpet player with Patriotic Tunes. American Legion Auxiliary to recognize Caroline Wilson and Michael Donovan, Boys and Girls State recipients, Edward "Skip" Biron, Veteran and Author of Skip's Legacy. Refreshments served. All are welcome, especially Veteran's and their friends and family.

MILTON: The public is invited to a short ceremony in Veteran’s Park at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 11, to mark Veterans Day. It will be conducted by VFW Post 8393. Gueest speakers will include Robert Graham and a Navy Master Chief will be doing the missing man table. The Milton Women’s Club will provide coffee at the close of the event.

■ Veterans Appreciation Dinner: Veterans and community members are all welcome. Enjoy a free spaghetti dinner and fellowship at Community Church of Milton, 9 Steeple St., on Nov. 15. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and dinner is served at 7 p.m.

NORTH BERWICK, Maine: The Noble High School Music Department will hold: a patriotic concert on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. More than 200 band and chorus students will be performing patriotic selections. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held in the Hussey Auditorium at Noble High School. The band will perform patriotic selections including a tribute to the men and women who are serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces.

ROCHESTER: The William Allen School in Rochester will have a Veterans Day assembly at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.

■ AMVETS will visit Riverside Rest Home at 10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 11.

SOMERSWORTH: Veteran’s Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m., at the American Legion Post 69 in Somersworth.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine: A Veterans Day Memorial Service will take place with VFW Post 5744 in front of South Berwick Town Hall on Friday, Nov. 11, at 1:30 p.m.

WOLFEBORO: The Wright Museum will host: the annual Veterans Day Ceremony: on Friday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m., to 12 p.m., at 77 Center St., Wolfeboro. The ceremony will be held in the Wright Museum’s Military Gallery. Doors will open at 10 a.m. After the ceremony, the Museum will remain open to the public until 4 p.m. For details: contact Harold Chamberlain at 569-4296.
